About

We did not build another delivery app.

Nigeria does not have a shortage of food, or of people who want to sell it. What it has is a gap between a kitchen with a pot of jollof and the person two streets away who is hungry right now. WhatsChow closes that gap in the app both of them already have open — in every state that has a kitchen worth ordering from.

The short version

How we got here

The problem

Four delivery apps installed, none of them opened this month. Meanwhile the kitchen down the road takes orders on WhatsApp with a notepad and no way to get paid up front.

The bet

If the conversation is already happening on WhatsApp, the commerce should happen there too — search, menu, checkout and status, all in one thread.

Where we are

Live across Nigeria with verified kitchens in every region we have been asked for, an assistant that handles Pidgin and voice notes, and payments settled before anyone starts cooking.

Next

Depth rather than width — more kitchens per town, live rider tracking, and vendor analytics. All three are already in build.

What we hold to

Three things we are not willing to trade

01

Meet people where they already are

The best interface is the one already installed and already open. We add a phone number to a habit instead of asking for a new one.

02

The kitchen keeps the customer

Vendors carry their own name, their own photos, their own rating. We are the rail, not the brand the food arrives under.

03

Trust is a product decision

Every kitchen is reviewed by a person before it goes live, every payment is verified before a pot goes on, and rejections come with a reason.

Who this is for

The one-pot kitchen counts as much as the restaurant

Most food in Nigeria is sold by people with no website, no card terminal and no interest in learning software. If the whole job can be done by replying to a message, the smallest kitchen on the street can compete with the biggest one.
